Sadly scuba diving is no longer allowed at the Atlantic Quarry in Atlantic, IA. There is a locked gate at the entrance along with signs saying "These Gates Close Daily at 4:30PM", "Danger No Trespassing" and "Rock Quarries are not Playgrounds - Stay Out - Stay Alive - Iowa Limestone Producers Association." Our club had a great run at the quarry and a huge thank you to Schildberg Construction for allowing the club to dive at the quarry for so many years. Sightings over the years included the friendly bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, carp, sauger, walleye, crawfish, painted turtle, snapping turtle, and last year we even saw a beaver underwater! Thanks for the memories.
